CNC machine recovery
Helping identify a stuck gearbox behind drive-status faults on a CNC machine that had been down for two months.
The challenge
The CNC machine had been out of operation for two months. The maintenance team had not yet identified the cause, and I joined the troubleshooting group.
What I did
- Researched the fault as part of the repair team.
- Communicated with engineers from other factories to compare findings.
- Helped the team identify that a stuck gearbox was causing some drives to appear switched off.
The result
After the gearbox was released, the machine returned to smooth operation. This was a collaborative diagnosis and repair.
